St George Hall is said to be one of the finest neoclassical buildings of the world. It is located in St George’s Place.

The building opened to the public in 1854, but it started to be erected in 1838, in order to conmemorate Queen Victoria's coronation. In the 21st century it has been restored.

Inside the rooms of this amazing building you can organize and celebrate public or private events such as weddings, parties, and other major events or, if you are going to visit the building, you can have a look at the Heritage Centre, which consists of several attractions such as:
  • The original south entrance to the Hall, wich has never been used before by the public.
  • The Criminal Court, the Judge's Robing Room, and the cells in which the prisoners awaited for their trial.
  • A new accesible viewing gallery for the Great Hall, in which you can see temporary expositions and the basements.
  • It is also available a tour in which "visitors can follow the steps of the unfortunate prisoners, from prison cell to the dock."
  • A Community Room entitled ‘World Heritage-Your Heritage’ where local groups can exhibit work.

The museum is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, but if you want to have a coffee in the cafeteria you can do it from 8.30 AM to 4 PM. Adults and children tickets are free of charge.

This is a general information video about the building and what you can visit there. Enjoy!
